Hammersmith is the general counsel at the National Quality Forum (NQF) and is responsible for oversight and
advice regarding legal matters. She addresses issues related to intellectual
property, contracts and grants, corporate governance, risk management,
nonprofit law, and other corporate requirements and processes. Ms. Hammersmith
has more than 20 years of legal experience in risk assessment and management,
regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, alliance and collaboration
structuring, and confidentiality and privacy issues. Before joining NQF, Ms.
Hammersmith was the associate general counsel of the National Committee for
Quality Assurance (NCQA). She received her law degree and bachelor’s degree
from the University of Virginia and is a member of the Virginia Bar and the
District of Columbia Bar.
