Bruce Siegel, MD, MPH, is the president and CEO of America’s Essential Hospitals, the national organization representing hospitals committed to caring for the uninsured and other vulnerable people. Prior to joining America’s Essential Hospitals, Bruce served as Center for Health Care Quality director and health policy professor at the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services. Before that, Bruce was president and CEO of Tampa General Healthcare and New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. He also served as New Jersey’s commissioner of health. America’s Essential Hospitals is a charter member of NQF, and Bruce is vice chair of NQF’s board. Here, he addresses healthcare disparities with NQF.
