Washington, DC –The active involvement and
commitment of senior leadership and board members are necessary when it comes
to achieving patient safety goals. However, establishing a collaborative environment is not always an easy
task. The patient safety webinar
“Getting Your Board on Board” will explore a number of tools and resources
available to help establish this connection and also will share success stories
for clinicians to model. The webinar builds
on the recent national Partnership for Patients-NPP Patient
Safety Webinar Series.
“Getting Your Board on Board” extends key themes established
during the first part of the ongoing series hosted by NPP—which is convened by
the National Quality Forum (NQF)—and the Department of Health and Human
Services. The interactive webinar will
take place on Friday, December 9, at 2:45pm ET. Advance registration for the
event is recommended and is available now online.
The webinar will feature speakers Bernie Rosof, MD, chair,
Board of Directors, Huntington Hospital, North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health
System, NPP Co-Chair; Carol Wagner, RN, MBA, senior vice president, patient safety,
Washington State Hospital Association; and Rosemary Gibson, MSc, patient advocate
and author of The Treatment Trap and Wall of Silence.
Participants will be able to interact with the speakers
through live chat, and web polling questions will provide real-time information
about work currently under way in patient care communities to actively engage board
members in patient safety initiatives.
With each of these sessions, national experts along with
front-line providers will present effective solutions and provide a follow-up
discussion about how to realize these solutions at both the local and national
level. The webinar series will be available for audio streaming free of charge.
Space is limited, and advance registration is recommended to ensure real-time
participation. All webinars will be recorded, archived, and made available on
NQF’s website after each event.
