NQF’s 2018 Annual Conference, March 12-13, Highlights Innovative Approaches to Improve Health Equity and Address the Opioid Crisis

Washington, DC—More than 500 thought leaders from across the healthcare sector—including patients and consumer advocates, health systems and health plans, employers, and policymakers—will attend the National Quality Forum’s (NQF) 2018 Annual Conference, March 12-13, in Washington, DC.

NQF’s conference is the only event of its kind to focus exclusively on the intersection of quality, healthcare delivery, and health policy. The 2018 Annual Conference will explore the essential role of quality in hospital readmissions, health equity, and other critical areas that affect individuals and communities; consider new approaches to making care better and safer for individuals and their families; and examine the relationship between quality, delivery reform, and the drive toward value.

Featured speakers include:

  • Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)
  • David Feinberg, MD, MBA, president and CEO, Geisinger Health System
  • Douglas Holtz-Eakin, PhD, president, American Action Forum
  • Kate Goodrich, MD, MHS, director, Center for Clinical Standards and Quality, and CMS chief medical officer, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services

The NQP Playbook™: Opioid Stewardship provides strategies for healthcare organizations and clinicians to curb opioid misuse and overuse through more appropriate prescribing practices and pain management approaches. The NQP Playbook™: Shared Decision Making in Healthcare provides practical, actionable solutions to overcome common barriers to shared decision making between patients and providers.

NQF will also recognize winners of the 2017 John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Awards and NQF’s Consumers and Patients for Quality Award.
