• NQF’s Measure Incubator is exploring innovative and agile approaches to incubate and test quality measures more efficiently—particularly in areas of health and healthcare that still do not have enough or the right kinds of measures to drive improvement. Following recommendations that emerged from a design session of interested stakeholders, NQF is creating a Measure Incubator “learning collaborative” to share evolving approaches and best practices in measure development.

Two newly formed workgroups are spearheading the design and implementation of the learning collaborative:

    • The Partnerships and Collaboration workgroup advises NQF on when and how stakeholders can best and most efficiently engage through the measure development process.
    • The Data and Testing workgroup provides NQF with input on data needs and potential data sources and advises on how data might be used more efficiently in the measure development process.

The workgroups involve dozens of volunteers and are led by committees that include healthcare leaders and measure development experts from the public and private sectors. The groups meet bi-monthly by teleconference or webinar.

To learn more about these groups or the work of the Measure Incubator, or to discuss incubating a measure, please contact NQF at incubator@qualityforum.org.
