The comment period for Common Formats Version 1.2 (acute care hospitals) is open and will remain open until an updated version is posted. The NQF Expert Panel will consider the comments received through August 2012 in its initial set of recommendations to AHRQ. Commenters are encouraged to submit comments during this initial 120-day period to ensure they can be fully considered by AHRQ in development of Version 2.0, which is scheduled for release in 2013.
NQF, on behalf of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), is coordinating a process to obtain comments from stakeholders about the Common Formats authorized by the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act of 2005 (Patient Safety Act). The Common Formats provide a standardized method for data collection and reporting of patient safety event information to federally-listed Patient Safety Organizations (PSOs).
The tool that you are about to access was developed by NQF to collect comments on the Common Formats event descriptions. This NQF commenting tool includes the content of each of the currently available Common Formats event descriptions and forms (listed on the first page of the tool). In addition to accessing the event descriptions for comment, relevant segments of the related Common Formats reporting forms are displayed for context and comment.
