Overview
In order to better identify measures to help advance National Quality Strategy priorities, MAP has convened a set of time-limited task forces drawn from current MAP membership.
The MAP Coordinating Committee will continue to set overall strategy for MAP and provide direction to MAP Workgroups and Task Forces. The task forces will report to the MAP Coordinating Committee, contributing to the MAP Strategic Plan and families of measures for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, care coordination and safety to be delivered to HHS on October 1, 2012.

Task Force Meetings and Materials:
The Measure Applications Partnership (MAP) Strategy Task Force advised the Coordinating Committee on a 3-year MAP Strategic Plan for achieving aligned performance measurement under the National Quality Strategy (NQS). The Task Force consisted of 11 members, drawn from MAP and National Priorities Partnership (NPP) leadership and other MAP members needed to achieve the desired balance and necessary expertise. Findings were included in the MAP Strategic Plan: 2012-2015, submitted to HHS on October 1, 2012.

MAP CARDIOVASCULAR AND DIABETES CARE TASK FORCE
The Cardiovascular and Diabetes Care Task Force have developed a "family" of aligned measures that includes available measures and measure gaps that span programs, care settings, and levels of analysis for two high-impact conditions – cardiovascular disease and diabetes. This family of measures addresses cost of care as related to these conditions. Findings were included in the MAP Families of Measures Report, submitted to HHS on October 1, 2012.
