The National Quality Forum (NQF) is recruiting for a Senior Program Director responsible for managerial and organizational support for the implementation phase of NQF’s National Priorities Partners Initiative (NPPI). Under the auspices of the NPPI the NQF is working in partnership with 27 major national organizations to identify priorities for performance improvement that represent major opportunities to address quality deficits and eliminate waste. The initial list of national priorities and goals should be available in April 2008. This position will be responsible for coordinating a complex set of activities aimed at 1) communicating the priorities and goals to various stakeholders and audiences; 2) facilitating the development and implementation of action plans at the local and national level to achieve the national goals; and 3) developing and implementing a program evaluation plan. The position reports directly to the Vice President-National Priorities, but will be expected to manage a coordinated implementation effort that involves NQF’s Education and Outreach, Membership Services, and Communications Departments.
Specifically, key responsibilities for this position include: (a) working with the National Priorities Partners (27 national organizations) to develop a coordinated and comprehensive action plan for achieving the national goals; (b) facilitate their deliberations including developing agendas, planning and preparing for meetings/calls, developing briefing materials and other supporting documents (i.e. literature reviews, data analyses) to support the Committee’s deliberations, and writing final reports and other products as applicable; (c) communicating NPPI key messages in an appropriate, concise manner to diverse audiences; (e) overseeing staff providing analytic and administrative support to the NPPI. This position also includes a communications and outreach component necessitating local and national travel to convey key messages to a variety of stakeholder groups.
Experience: 7+ years project management experience; Masters Degree in health policy, public health, or other related field. Excellent managerial and communication skills are essential. Experience presenting to local and national audiences on health policy related issues desirable. Excellent salary and benefits package.
