    Mark McClellan, MD, PhD, is a senior fellow and director of the Health Care Innovation and Value Initiative at the Brookings Institution, where his focus is on promoting quality and value in patient-centered healthcare. An active contributor to NQF work, Mark currently chairs the Measure Applications Partnership (MAP) Clinician Workgroup. He has served two terms on the NQF Board of Directors, chaired the MAP Affordability Task Force, and participated on various other NQF committees and task forces, including the MAP Strategy Task Force and the MAP Health Insurance Exchange and Quality Rating System Task Force. A doctor and an economist by training, Mark is a former CMS administrator, FDA commissioner, member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, and senior director for healthcare policy at the White House.
