Washington, DC, June 28, 2000 - The National Forum for Health Care Quality Measurement and Reporting (National Quality Forum or NQF) today announced that it will convene a membership orientation meeting July 24-25 in Washington, DC.
"As evidenced by the NQF's growing list of members, it is clear that healthcare quality is increasing in importance for healthcare and community leaders across the country," said Kenneth W, Kizer, MD, MPH, President and CEO of the NQF. "Furthermore, quality has developed into an issue of national importance and, as such, it requires all of us to work together because there is neither time nor resources to pursue any strategy other than one of complete cooperation."
Building on its structure as a public-private collaborative venture, the program will feature a comprehensive overview of current programming activities and witness the formal launch of the Member Councils. Members (see the list below) will begin to identify paths for moving forward to improve healthcare quality. The NQF orientation program is a complimentary event but space is limited. Videoconferencing of the general sessions can also be made available upon request.
Those interested in contacting the NQF about membership should call 202-332-7014 or send an e-mail to info@qualityforum.org.
