NQF Statement on Medicare Proposal to Pay for End-of-Life Counseling 

"As a geriatrician who has cared for many patients nearing the end of their lives, I'm glad that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recognized the need for physicians to have conversations with patients and their families about advanced care planning. The agency's proposal to reimburse physicians for these discussions is a critical step toward advancing a comprehensive, patient-centered approach for caring for people with advanced illness."
