The nation’s leading resource driving measurable health improvement announces members of a new task force that aims to provide national recommendations to improve high value, person-centered care by 2030
WASHINGTON, DC - The National Quality Forum (NQF) is proud to announce the members of the National Quality Task Force: Driving Value through the Next Generation of Quality. This Task Force, comprised of the nation’s leading healthcare experts, kicked off in May 2019 and will identify actionable opportunities to improve alignment throughout the healthcare delivery system to achieve better health value and outcomes by the year 2030.
Since its founding in 1999, NQF has addressed the safety and quality concerns of the U.S. healthcare system by working with industry leaders, stakeholders, and its members to establish safe, high-quality care for every person.
Though there have been significant advancements in policy, clinical practice, data, and technology, significant work remains to arrive at the point where every person in every community can expect to consistently and predictably receive high-quality healthcare. The growing concern that the nation is becoming less aligned in its efforts to arrive at this end-goal additionally drives the charge of the National Quality Task Force.
The Task Force has established a core committee led by co-chairs NQF President and CEO Shantanu Agrawal, MD, MPhil and Founding NQF President and CEO Kenneth W. Kizer, MD who will oversee five subcommittees designed to develop cross-cutting, actionable recommendations to serve as a blueprint to drive high-value care and outcomes through the next generation of quality.
A final report with the Task Force’s recommendations will be released later this year made possible by support from Kaiser Permanente, Geisinger, the Aetna Foundation, Intermountain Healthcare, the American Hospital Association, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, GlaxoSmithKline, and HCA Healthcare.
The National Quality Task Force committees are comprised of diverse thought leaders and pioneers representing multiple perspectives across providers, payers, patients, and employers – all committed to driving unprecedented rates of improvement in healthcare quality and outcomes. NQF is pleased to have the support and leadership of nearly 100 organizations and individuals who comprise the core committee and five subcommittees: Clinical and Quality Alignment, Payment and Policy, Consumer and Community-Driven Care, Technology and Transformation, and Promotion and System Change. The Task Force’s panel of Expert Advisors additionally provides high-level counsel and strategic direction in the development of this integral report and its findings.
