Measure Ratification and Appeals Process
Measure Ratification and Appeals Process- Proposed Changes
NQF seeks comment on revisions to the grounds for appeal and revisions to what can be appealed, which differ from those presented for comment in the initial commenting period. The revisions clarify the grounds for appeal and what can be appealed and are expected to reduce the amount of time required to reach final decisions on measures.
The Measure Ratification and Appeal Process Summary of Proposed Changes table (PDF) provides additional detail.
Second Public and Member Comment
NQF is seeking additional input on these proposed changes through Monday, March 28, 2016. Once the revised endorsement and ratification process is finalized, NQF staff will implement the new process, which will include an extensive education effort for stakeholders.
NQF uses its formal Consensus Development Process (CDP) to evaluate and endorse consensus standards, including performance measures, best practices, frameworks, and reporting guidelines. The CDP is designed to call for input and carefully consider the interests of stakeholder groups from across the healthcare industry.
