Fast Forward: Creating Valid and Reliable Patient-Reported Outcome Measures 

Introducing Fast Forward, a series of briefs on new work by NQF. The inaugural issue introduces readers to NQF’s work in creating valid and reliable patient-reported outcome measures. The culmination of this work is a multi-step process for moving from patient-reported outcome information all the way to evidence-based, valid, and reliable performance measures that can help healthcare providers continually improve the care they give. Now, those who fund, develop, and test performance measures have the tools they need to more rapidly create these much needed, next generation measures.
