Cancer Final Report - Spring 2020 Cycle

Date of Publication:
FEB 2021
Associated Project:
Cancer
Abstract
Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the United States (U.S.), exceeded only by heart disease, and its diagnosis and treatment has great economic impact on patients, their families, and society. It is estimated that by 2030 cancer-attributable costs are projected to increase to over $245 billion. Each Cancer project cycle aims to endorse measures of accountability for improving the delivery of cancer care in the U.S. During the spring 2020 cycle, the Cancer Standing Committee evaluated one measure undergoing maintenance review. This measure focused on final reports for screening mammograms. The Standing Committee did not recommend this measure for endorsement. This report details the evaluation of that measure.
