Date of Publication:

Associated Project:
Patient Experience and Function
Abstract
The implementation of patient-centered measures is one of the most important approaches to ensuring that healthcare in the United States reflects the goals, preferences, and values of care recipients. Capturing patient experience and satisfaction is a hallmark of patient-centered measurement, which is especially important for vulnerable populations. During the Spring 2020 measure evaluation cycle, the NQF Patient Experience and Function Standing Committee was convened to review four measures for NQF endorsement. The Standing Committee evaluated and recommended the four measures for NQF endorsement. Additionally, the Standing Committee engaged in a broad discussion related to healthcare disparities and the incongruencies between measures of satisfaction and external measures of quality.
