Governance - Story

Measure Incubator® GovernanceThe Measure Incubator Advisory Council (MIAC) assisted NQF in identifying and mitigating potential areas of real or perceived conflict of interest (COI) arising from Measure Incubator projects using a consistent and equitable approach. The MIAC provided oversight of selected Measure Incubator® activities. Working with the MIAC ensured that Measure Incubator operations reflected NQF’s values and protected NQF’s mission.

The MIAC:

  • Performed a periodic review of NQF Measure Incubator COI processes, policies, and guidelines to ensure their adequacy in guiding project priorities and collaborations and in mitigating real or perceived COI;
  • Identified and reviewed potential scenarios where COI may arise and shared with NQF staff approaches to manage COI in these instances;
  • Performed a periodic review of the Measure Incubator project portfolio and identified specific projects for a COI review; and,
  • Responded to ad hoc requests from NQF staff to provide input on time-sensitive COI concerns related to new or existing Measure Incubator projects.
