Attribution Project - short story
NQF’s Attribution Project Committee NamedNQF’s measurement science work on the essential and complex issue of attribution—that is, who ultimately is responsible for a patient’s health outcomes when multiple providers deliver care—continues with strong momentum from a CMS-funded project to examine the issue indepth. The proposed multistakeholder committee roster for the project is available for public comment through February 18. The U.S. healthcare system’s rapid movement to performance-based payments and the increase in shared accountability structures to deliver care have heightened the urgency to solve the issue of measure attribution. The soon-to-be-empaneled NQF Attribution committee will analyze the different approaches to assign patients and their quality outcomes to organizations and clinicians and recommend how these approaches might be improved.
Follow the progress of the Attribution project and take advantage of other upcoming opportunities to participate in this important work.
