The awards, in particular, acknowledge efforts that are consistent with the aims of the National Quality Strategy — better care, healthy people and communities, and affordable care.
“We had a fantastic representation of innovative quality and safety initiatives in our 2013 Eisenberg Award submissions and recipients,” said Dr. Christine Cassel, president and CEO of NQF. “We look forward to another robust awards cycle this year and the opportunity to learn more about the many new, effective approaches underway to improve the overall quality of health and healthcare.”
The Eisenberg Awards are presented annually by the National Quality Forum and The Joint Commission at the NQF Annual Conference. Past award winners have implemented programs that have drastically lowered readmission rates, resulted in marked decreases in hospital acquired infections, and created a robust culture of safety.
Submissions will be accepted August 1 through September 30, 2014.
