NQF awarded the 2016 Consumers and Patients for Quality Award to the Maine Health Management Coalition (MHMC), a regional health
improvement coalition that reports quality and cost data for doctors and
MHMC’s website, www.getbettermaine.org,
gives consumers access to provider and hospital ratings, which has reduced healthcare
costs and improved quality of care for people in Maine. The organization has
played a leading role in healthcare quality measurement and public reporting,
both in Maine and nationally, since 1991. NQF spoke recently with MHMC’s former CEO,
Andrew Webber, about the coalition’s work and the award.
