The National Quality Forum (NQF) announces a call for nominations and/or applications for its Board of Directors. A private, non-profit public benefit corporation, the mission of NQF is to improve the quality of healthcare by setting national priorities and goals for performance improvement, endorsing national consensus standards for measuring and publicly reporting on performance, and promoting the attainment of national goals through education and outreach programs. A unique public-private partnership, NQF has broad participation from approximately 450 organizations that represent all sectors of the healthcare industry, including consumers, purchasers, employers, payers, healthcare providers, and other critical stakeholders.
The NQF Board of Directors consists of individuals with extensive experience and diverse perspectives. At this time, candidates from all stakeholder groups and perspectives are being sought with the understanding that Directors should serve as individuals and not as stakeholder representatives per se. For additional information, please see the Summary of Responsibilities and Expectations.
The NQF Board of Directors meets three times a year, with additional work conducted by conference call and via e-mail, as necessary. Travel for meetings is reimbursed, but no other compensation is offered. Directors will be limited to two consecutive three-year terms. Appointments are of an individual, not an organization, and proxies are not permitted.
