Bruce Siegel, MD, MPH, is president and CEO of America's Essential Hospitals, a 14-year member of NQF. America's Essential Hospitals (formerly the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems) represents hospitals committed to caring for uninsured and other vulnerable people. Since becoming CEO in 2010, Dr. Siegel has guided the organization toward its vision of helping members transform into integrated delivery systems and leaders in access and quality. Under Dr. Siegel's leadership, America's Essential Hospitals created the nation's first safety net quality network under the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' Partnership for Patients. His prior experience included serving as president and CEO of New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation and of Tampa General Healthcare and as health commissioner for New Jersey. Dr. Siegel is a member of the NQF Board of Directors, serves on the Measure Applications Partnership Hospital Workgroup and co-chairs the NQF Population Health Framework Committee.
