This session will present the concept of building real-time, reliable, field-driven feedback loops regarding measure availability, selection, and use. A reactor panel comprised of various leaders using performance measures as part of quality improvement will discuss the value of such feedback loops and offer key considerations to guide the build-out of a more formal feedback system.

Speakers will discuss areas of measurement that are of greatest importance for their community, how they have designed measurement programs where the measures they need do not exist, and discuss ways in which measures users and developers could collaborate moving forward. Participants should gain a better understanding of the key high impact measurement areas that are important to those who use measures in their work.

These sessions will focus on the path forward to accelerating change. 

Option 1 - Beyond Measures: Collaboration to Accelerate Health Care Change  

Conference attendees will discuss the challenges and opportunities of working collectively to spur quality improvement. This session may include purchasers, health plans and providers to demonstrate how collaboration across stakeholders is needed to accelerate change; and will be organized around a specific topic such as authentically engaging patients and their families.

Option 2 - Measure Users' Role in eMeasure Development 

Electronic measurement holds great promise to help improve quality and reduce measurement burden, but is complex and can be difficult to implement. Due to limited resources, it is critical to prioritize which issues are most important and feasible to address using e-Measures. In addition, it is essential to try and prevent unintended consequences. Participants will discuss how building a dynamic learning network between electronic health record experts and the performance measure community is essential to advancing the development and deployment of e-measures.
