Partnerships Between Hospitals and Community Organizations to be Discussed in Upcoming Patient Safety Webinar

Registration is now open for a new patient safety webinar, “Creating and Sustaining Successful Partnerships between Hospitals and Community Organizations.”  Panelists will discuss ways to create and sustain meaningful relationships with community leaders with a direct interest in improving health and health care, including quality improvement alliances, employers, public agencies, consumer organizations and social service groups.  The webinar builds on the recent national Partnership for Patients-National Priorities Partnership (NPP) Patient Safety Webinar Series.

“Creating and Sustaining Successful Partnerships between Hospitals and Community Organizations” extends key themes established during the first part of the ongoing series hosted by NPP—which is convened by the National Quality Forum (NQF)—and the Department of Health and Human Services.  The interactive webinar will take place on Wednesday, February 15, at 1:00 pm ET. Advance registration for the event is recommended and is available now online.

The webinar will feature speakers:

  • Richard Antonelli, MD, primary care pediatrician, medical director for Integrated Care, Children’s Hospital Boston
  • David Nau, PhD, RPh, senior director, Quality Strategies, Pharmacy Quality Alliance
  • Heather O’Donnell, JD, director of planning for Health Care Reform, CJE Senior Life
  • Melinda West, RN, BEd, Intermediate Care unit manager, Bay Area Hospital

Participants will be able to interact with the speakers through live chat, and web polling questions will provide real-time information about work currently under way to promote successful partnerships between hospitals and community organizations.

With each of these sessions, national experts along with front-line providers will present effective solutions and provide a follow-up discussion about how to realize these solutions at both the local and national level. The webinar series will be available for audio streaming free of charge. Space is limited, and advance registration is recommended to ensure real-time participation. All webinars will be recorded, archived, and made available on NQF’s website after each event.
