NQF Endorses Additional Gastrointestinal Measure


Washington, DC – the National Quality Forum (NQF) Board of Directors has endorsed an additional gastrointestinal quality measure, addressing colonoscopy screening rates in patients with a history of colonic polyps. This measure was originally evaluated as part of NQF’s gastrointestinal/genitourinary measure endorsement project, which had two measures endorsed in August 2013.

The NQF endorsement process allows for reconsideration of the endorsed quality measure listed below by submitting an appeal no later than Monday, October 28. To submit an appeal, please go to the NQF Measure Database).

Endorsed Measure

0659: Endoscopy/polpy surveillance: colonoscopy interval for patients with a history or adenomatous polpys-avoidance of inappropriate use (AMA-PCPI)
