NQF’s Christine Cassel Recognized as Top Healthcare Leader by Modern Healthcare and Becker’s Hospital Review

Washington, DC
— National Quality Forum President and CEO, Christine Cassel, MD, has been selected as one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Women in Healthcare for 2015, as well as one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s 50 Experts Leading the Field of Patient Safety. Earlier in April, Dr. Cassel also was named as one of Modern Healthcare’s 50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders, for the third year in a row.

The Top 25 Women in Healthcare list is a biennial recognition program that received several hundred nominations from Modern Healthcare readers this year. The program honors female executives from all sectors of the U.S. healthcare industry who are “developing policy, leading change, and guiding healthcare delivery,” according to the publication.

Becker’s Hospital Review’s third edition of its 50 Experts Leading the Field of Patient Safety list includes individuals at national organizations, universities, and healthcare organizations who are working to improve patient safety.

NQF board member Patrick Conway, MD, MSc, the acting principal deputy administrator and chief medical officer of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, was recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review on its Experts list and as a Modern Healthcare Influential Physician. Modern Healthcare also named NQF board member Bruce Siegel, the president and CEO of America’s Essential Hospitals, an Influential Physician, and NQF board member Karen Ignani, president and CEO of America’s Health Insurance Plans, a Top 25 Woman in Healthcare.
