Currently, this measure only applies to physicians or other clinicians. The requestor has asked for an expansion of this measure to include participation in a hospital-level registry.

NQF conducted ad hoc reviews for three endorsed measures. The measure, Participation by a Physician or Other Clinician in a Systematic Clinical Database Registry that includes Endorsed Measures (Endorsed measure: #0493), was under review through September 23, 2010.
Technical experts reviewed the evidence and any additional information provided by the ad hoc review requestor and measure steward. The technical experts will provide input to the Consensus Standards Approval Committee (CSAC) after the public and member comment period.
At its meeting July 14- 15, the CSAC voted to continue endorsement of measure #0493 - Participation by a Physician or Other Clinician in a Systematic Clinical Database Registry. The decision will be sent to the Board of Directors for ratification.

Announcement of Board Endorsement
The public had 30 days to appeal the final decision to endorse a voluntary consensus standard. The appeals period closed on October 26, 2010. No appeals were filed during this time.
