Project Status: Completed

Ad Hoc Review: Discharged on Statin Medication

Final Activity: The appeals period closed on June 11, 2010.

An ad hoc review may be conducted on an endorsed standard at any time with adequate justification. The requestor is required to provide evidence supporting that the measure focus has changed; that implementation of the measure may result in unintended consequences; or that there has been a material change to the measure.

NQF conducted an ad hoc review for the endorsed measure, Discharged on Statin Medication (Endorsed measure: #0439).

About this Review

Reason for Request

NQF received a request to review Measure #0439, Discharged on Statin Medication. Currently, this measure applies to patients who were hospitalized due to stroke. The requestor has asked that this measure be expanded based on the evidence to address patients who are hospitalized due to an acute myocardial infarction (AMI).

Justification for Ad Hoc Review
