Abstract
The report details nine structural consensus standards endorsed by NQF in 2008. The standards are for use in assessing and encouraging health information technology (HIT) adoption by clinicians. The report emphasizes the importance of sending a consistent message to all audiences: quality improvement through the use of HIT requires standards regarding how clinical information is recorded, stored, and shared.
