Abstract
The report presents three performance measures, endorsed by NQF in 2008, that address immunizations to prevent seasonal influenza and pneumococcal disease across healthcare settings. The measures can be used to address the incidence of serious illness and unnecessary hospitalizations resulting from seasonal influenza and pneumococcal disease, which could be significantly reduced through the use of immunizations across the healthcare system, including clinician practice settings, hospitals, nursing homes, and the home care setting.
