MAP 2019 Considerations for Implementing Measures Final Report - Hospitals 

The Measure Applications Partnership (MAP) Hospital Workgroup reviewed four measures under consideration for two hospital and setting-specific programs. MAP recognized the need for parsimony and harmonization of measures across programs and care settings and supports CMS in its continued efforts towards reducing administrative burden on clinicians and other providers. Additionally, MAP noted the importance of providing patient-focused care that aligns with patient and family preferences. MAP also put forward considerations regarding alternative questions to address areas of pain control.
