The Opportunity
The Medicaid and CHIP (MAC) Scorecard initiative was launched by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide greater public transparency about Medicaid and CHIP program administration and outcomes. The Scorecard is also a resource to assist states and CMS in aligning efforts to drive improvements, at the federal and state-levels, in the health outcomes of the Medicaid/CHIP beneficiaries and in the administration of these programs. The Scorecard is divided into three pillars: state health system performance, state administrative accountability, and federal administrative accountability. Each of these areas contain state and federally reported measures.1
About the Project
The Scorecard Committee that reflects the diversity of the Medicaid population, including representatives from across the health care delivery system will develop measure recommendations and formulate strategic guidance to strengthen the Scorecard measure set. The Committee will assist the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) in determining how to leverage quality measures from the Medicaid Adult and Child Core Sets for potential inclusion in the MAC Scorecard.
